During the rainy season most of the roads in Somalia are not passable

Gedo (Sunatimes) Long distance drivers in the Gedo region are complaining of the poor situation of roads. They say driving on those roads has become a nightmare.

Abdullahi Huseen Farah, who is a truck driver, told radio Bar-kulan that he experiences a lot of difficulty when driving along the Bardera-Baladhawo road in the Gedo region. He said there are many potholes.

During the rainy season most of the roads in Somalia are not passable. Vehicles get stuck and road transport becomes unreliable.

Since the collapse of the Somali government in 1991, most of the roads in Somalia have not been maintained. The old roads have been destroyed by motor attacks and mines.

Most road accidents that occur in Somalia are caused by this type of situation, especially in the Gedo region
