    Somalia:President Farole Blames Al-shabab for Today’s fighting

    President Farole added that his forces were able to defeat the militia group

President Farole added that his forces were able to defeat the militia group Bosaso (Sunatimes) The president of Puntland authority Abdirahman Mohamed Farole has blamed Al-shabab militia group for today’s fighting between his forces and the rebels of a militia group whose leader is linked to Al-shabab.

President Farole added that his forces were able to defeat the militia group which suffered loses. The president of the semi-autonomous region also said that his forces captured some of the rebels.

Puntland’s president named some of the leaders of the rebel group among them Jama’a Ismail Duale who earlier clashed with president Farole’s administration. The rebel group that fought with Puntland’s forces today in the outskirts of Bosaso town is led by Sheikh Atam, a cleric linked to Al-shabab militia group.

President Farole claimed that a few of his soldiers were injured while 13 members of the militia were killed. He warned that today’s fighting which disrupted Puntland security may spreads to other places.

However, independent sources of information are indicating that at least three officers of the Puntland forces were killed while seven others were injured during today’s attack on Puntland’s forces by the militia led by Sheikh Mohamed Said Atam.
