The government has assured the armed forces that it will cater for their needs as they continue serving the nation.

Speaking at his office in Villa Somalia on Tuesday, Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon said the government will care for its armed forces.

He said the government troops will this year get paid for their services, receive medical care, and all other necessary up-keeps to support themselves and their families.

The prime minister urged the government soldiers to continue their onslaught against the Al-Shabaab militant group to secure the country.

He however promised the government will take injured soldiers whose medical needs could not be met inside the country to abroad for further treatments.
