Speaking to Radio Mogadishu, Somalia’s ambassador to Nairobi Mohamed Ali Nur Ameriko called the action of Kenyan police against refugees as unjust and misguided.
He said more than 200 innocent Somalis were arrested in the Nairobi security sweep.
“In collaboration with UNHCR we are trying to release those arrested.” Ameriko said.
Acting Kenyan commissioner for refugees’ affairs Badu Katelo said Tuesday that close to thirty thousand Somalis in Nairobi are refugees and must go to Dadaab camp.
