The deadly simultaneously twin blasts that hit in Uganda's capital on Sunday was a "Plan B" for Al-Shabab who was looking to attack on the World Cup but unable to break through South Africa's security, a terror expert who had earlier warned Congress about such an attack told FoxNews.com.

The dead include a 25-year-old American aid worker as 70 wounded are still being treated in hospitals.

The first explosion happened in Ethiopian restaurant popular with expatriates, and the second took place at a rugby club where hundreds of people had gathered for the Spain vs Netherlands match.

Speaking to the reporters in Mogadishu, Al Shabab spokesman Sheikh Ali Mohamud Rage thanked to the mujahideen that carried out and threatened more attacks in Uganda.

Earlier, Al Shabaab militants in Somalia had threatened to attack Uganda for sending peacekeeping troops to the anarchic country to prop up the Western-backed.
The African Union said the deadly bombings by the Al-Shabaab in Uganda will not have an impact the peacekeeping missions in Somalia.
The AU is now preparing to send reinforcement troops from Uganda and other countries to Somalia to help the weak government restore peace and stability in the country.
The Somali insurgent group al-Shabab last week condemned plans by six East African countries to send reinforcements to shore up the AU peacekeeping mission known as AMISOM.
Uganda is the largest contributor to the 5,000-member AMISOM force, and is preparing to increase its troop commitment.

I join President Obama in strongly condemning today's attacks in Kampala, Uganda targeting innocent spectators watching the World Cup final.
We understand that American citizens may have been injured or killed and our embassy is reaching out to assist. Our condolences go out to the families and friends of the victims, in the United States and Uganda.
At this tragic moment, the United States stands with Uganda. We have a long-standing, close friendship with the people and government of Uganda and will work with them to bring the perpetrators of this crime to justice.
The Foreign Secretary William Hague has condemned the bomb attacks in Kampala.
Speaking following the attacks, the Foreign Secretary said:

"I was deeply shocked to hear of the bomb attacks that took place in Kampala last night, which left many people dead and injured. I send my heartfelt sympathies to President Museveni and the people of Uganda, in particular the families and friends of those who lost their lives, and wish a full and speedy recovery to those who were injured.
These were cowardly attacks during an event that was widely seen as a celebration of African unity, and I condemn them in the strongest possible terms. The UK will stand with Uganda in fighting such brutal acts of violence and terror."
In a statement issued on Monday by Banki Moon spokesperson, Mr. Ban described the bombings as "vicious".
"The Secretary-General hopes that the perpetrators of these acts will be brought to justice and prosecuted," the statement said.
