The immediate former Somali Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohamed Ali has urged the new government to do all means possible that people should be able to elect their leaders in four years time.

In an exclusive interview withSunatimes, Ali said Somalis expect a lot from the new government including fixing the country’s ailing economy, adding that the government should meet the expectations of its people.

He said the new government should lead the country into democratic elections including a referendum on the new provisional constitution and completely liberate the country from Al-Shabaab militant group.

On issue regarding the new cabinet, the former PM welcomed it but expressed concerns over the number of the ministers appointed saying they were too many.

His sentiment comes just a day after Prime Minister Shirdon has appointed 20 assistant ministers and five State Ministers.
