More than 10,000 families received the donation distributed in 70 distribution centres, according to the head of humanitarian affairs in Kismayo, Hashi Abdirahman Ibrahim.
He said the beneficiaries were mainly internally displaced people pitching tents in refugee camps in the city and other needy families.
This is the first time the for the local interim administration to distribute such a humanitarian aid since the fall of the rebel administration in Kismayo early last October.

Needy families in Kismayo receive humanitarian aid
Kismayo’s interim administration has on Wednesday distributed 340 tonnes of wheat donated by a local aid agency, Yaglel, to needy families in the city.
