At least one person is known to have died and several others injured after two explosions occurred in the port city of Kismayo.

One explosion reportedly targeted a group of women cleaning the area district headquarters, killing one woman and injuring four others.

Locals say the explosion was a remotely detonated landmine planted in the area.

The other explosion which is said to be a hand grenade targeted Somali troops at Argada junction shortly after the first explosion.

It is not yet known whether the second explosion has caused any harm but reports say more troops were deployed into the city following the two incidents.

No group has claimed responsibility of the attack but suspicion is likely to fall on Al-Shabaab militant group.

There have been several similar explosions in the city since last eptember when coalition forces took control of it from Al-Shabaab rebel group.
