Spokesman Col. Warfa Sheikh Adan told Sunatimes the government has not paid forces in both Juba and Gedo regions, adding that Kenyan government which used to pay their salaries did not paid them for the last seven months.

He urged the president to consider their plight since they have been struggling for a long time in liberating these regions.

His sentiment comes a day the president attributed the recently witnessed military gains in the country to “payment of remuneration of the armed forces”.

The president made the remarks on Wednesday while attending parliament sitting to endorse the new prime minister.

He said such they will not relent on the gains they made and promised to continue the fight against Al-Shabaab militant group which has already lost several key towns in the country.
