Speaking over the phone to hundreds of Somalis who gathered in Minneapolis, U.S, to congratulate him on his victory, the president urged the Diaspora communities to support his government and take part in rebuilding the country.

The event was organised by Somali nationals in Minneapolis in support of the new president and was attended by some of the new Somali parliamentarians.

Participants promised to support the new government in order have Somalia regain its reputation in the world community.
