A cabinet minister served under the recent TFG whose UN-backed mandate expired late last August has criticized the transition saying that it was an obstacle to development and international co-operations.

Planning and international cooperation minister Abdullahi Godah Barre told Sunatimes that the just ended transitional period derailed their efforts fix the country’s economy, security issues and their foreign policies.

He said during the last government, they could not strengthen their relations with other countries in the world due to lack of legitimate government in the country, adding that they could not revive the country’s Banking sector for the same.

Barre however emphasised the task ahead of the new government to be formed soon and urged the new ministers to be vibrant and development oriented individuals who can execute their constitutional mandate accordingly.
