Three people were also injured during the Wednesday afternoon inferno. The injured people were said to be members of the public who were trying to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire still remains unknown but locals blamed strong winds for fanning the fire.
Gerisa village is home to hundreds of internally displaced people, mainly herders whose livestock have been swept by the recently ended drought in Awdal region.
