In a statement sent to newsrooms, Mr. Alex Rondos said the election of a new speaker for the Somali Federal Parliament drives transition another step forward.

“We hope that under his guidance and leadership Parliament will fulfill its tasks and quickly set out the timetable for the election of a new President.” quoted part of the statement of the EU special representative for horn of Africa.

EU is the largest donor in providing support and funds to the war-torn Somali nation.
