Ahlu-Suna Waljama officailly joined Somalia government.

MOGADISHU (Sunatimes) Somalia’s prime minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharkamarke has formed a new cabinet ministers including figures from the powerful moderate Islamic front (Ahlu-Suna Waljama) who had long been battling for receiving posts within the government.

Mr. Sharkamrke gave keys ministerial posts to Ahlu-Suna Waljama like Finance, National Security, Education and Health – this would give a confidence to the group as being part of the current government.

To join into the government was part of the deal signed between Ahlu-Suna Waljama and the Transitional Government months ago.

Speaking after the completing the formation of the cabinet, the prime minister said this was aimed to end the long standing division between the government and Ahlu-Suna Waljama.

The announcement of the latest cabinet came after Sharmarke consulted with the president over the selections of the appointees.
