Mogadishu: Bar-kulan: Al-shabab militias in the Jowhar district of the Central Juba region are suspected to have shot three youths, whom they arrested before killing them.

The young men were arrested in the Howlwadag estate in Jowhar by armed militias. The militias did not give reasons for arresting the two men. Later the two were found dead in a suburb near the town. It is not yet clear why Al-shabab militias killed the two.

One of the victims is reported to have escaped when his colleague was shot. His parents took him to one of Jowhar’s hospitals for treatment of injuries he sustained from gun shots wounds he received when escaping. The armed militias that killed his colleagues entered the hospital by force and took him away. They then shot him in the head just a few kilometers away from the hospital.

No one can complain or even talk of this incident in Jowhar as Al-shabab controls and commands the area. Al-shabab fighters have controlled the Jowhar district for more than two years but have not commited such reckless murders in the past.

People in the district now live in fear as there was no communication from Al-shabab stating the reason for killing the two young men. Now no one can talk about the incident that occurred last night.
