A government military official, Yussuf Hundubey, told To media that the boy was shot dead after he tried to escape arrest. Hundubey said none of their personnel sustained injured following the grenade attacks.
The attacker lobbed hand grenades into their base near a Bridge in the town where Ethiopian troops frequently fetch water for their domestic use.
A nighttime curfew has been in place in the town since the fall of the area rebel rule early this year.
