Leaders attending the two-day meeting include President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohamed Ali, speaker of the transitional federal parliament and officials from regional governments of Puntland and Galmudug as well as the Ahlu Sunna group.
Sources close to the meeting say the leaders will also discuss on how to work on another plan to end the current transition period.
Somali envoy to Kenya Mohamed Ali Noor (Americo) confirmed to Sunatimes that the meeting has officially kicked off, saying that the meeting is of greet significant, adding that expectations are high that it will yield significant points.
The meeting comes a time the leaders have to meet the August deadline set for the winding up of the current eight years old transitional period.
