The announcement comes after Galmudug vice president, Abdisamad Noor Gulied, members of the cabinet and elders met in southern Galkayo on Tuesday.

Abdisamad Noor Gulied, the vise president of Galmudug told Sunatimes that after discussions on current political situation in the country and the diplomatic relations between the two countries they came to the conclusion it is the best interest of all parties to attend the conference.

He added that some members of the cabinet have successfully convinced President Mohamed Ahmed Alim to change his stance and attend the Istanbul conference in this week.

However, no official statement from the president’s office regarding Galmudug’s participation in the conference has been released so far.

The two presidents of Puntland and Galmudug have on Sunday released a joint statement announcing the two states will boycott the upcoming conference citing their dissatisfaction with the vision of the conference.
