Speaking in Afgoye, Maye said that Somali police will soon proceed security activities in the town and appealed to the people of Afgoye to cooperate with the security officials.
He added that the government is aware of al-Shabaab remnants and sympathizers in the corridor and called the ordinary people to be vigilant and inform the relevant authorities in case of spotting any suspicious elements.
TFG forces backed by AMISOM seized the strategic town of Afgoye last week after a weeklong military offensive against al-Shabaab.
