Mohamed Ahmed, a local resident in Bud-bud settlement told Sunatimes that the trio were killed in remote areas of eastern part of the region.

He also said all those injured were members of the same family who were struck while at their makeshift house.

Reports say the injured people were rushed to health facilities in Galkayo town for treatments.

The incident comes less than a month after another person was killed at Dahabo Saudi village, some eight kilometers from Kuntuwarey town after a lightning struck in the village.
