The accident occurred when their Borame bound car overturned just few kilometres from Dila town, killing Abdirashid Sheikh Ali a medical doctor specialised in mental health and injured his two of his family members including his wife and a sister who were travelling together with him.

The doctor was reportedly headed to Borame town on voluntary health mission before death caught him on his way.

Ali who worked in Hargeisa general Hospital before his death is said to be one of the few medical doctors who recently returned from abroad to offer their desperately needed services to local population. He has been residing in Canada since Somalia plunged in disarray in early 1990s and came back to the country early last year.

His body is set to be laid to rest earlier today at one of the Muslim cemeteries in Borame town, according to relatives who spoke to Sunatimes
