Kenyan police on Saturday released a photograph of a German citizen they suspect to have deep connections with Somalia based Al-Shabaab militant group.

The suspect, who goes by the name Ahmed Khaled Mueller, is believed to have entered Kenya illegally.

Deputy police spokesperson Julius Owino on Saturday urged the German national to report to the nearest police station from where he would be handed over to the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit.

“Any person who knows the whereabouts of the said Mueller is requested to give this information to the nearest police officer, security officer or police station,” Mr Owino said.

Mr Owino warned that he could be armed and dangerous.

He said the suspect is believed to use alias names Andreas Martin Muller and Abu Nusaibah.

Police also suspect him to be in possession of information on planned Al-Shabaab attacks in the country.

Kenya has been on the receiving end of Al-Shabaab terror attacks since October last year when its troops entered Somalia to fight Al-Shabaab group.

Police last week released another photograph of a man they suspected to have been involved in the April 29 grenade attack on a church in Nairobi that killed two people and left 15 others seriously injured.
