The clash erupted after armed militants launched attacks on government military base in Kahda area of Darkenley district.

Darkenley district commissioner Moalim Abdulle said they foiled militants attempt to disrupt prevailing peace in the district. He claimed that government soldiers repelled the attackers.

Locals in the area say they saw the bodies of two dead militants at the scene of the incident.

Elsewhere heavily armed militants also attacked TFG and AMISOM Base at KM 13 junction but details concerning the incident still remain scanty.
