The four including a young man who allegedly threw hand grenades on the Ethiopian troops died when the troops opened fire on the direction where they were attacked from.
It is not yet known whether the Ethiopian troops also suffered any casualties following the grenade attack. The area regional authorities have not yet released any information regarding the incident.
The incident is said to be the first of its kind since Ethiopia troops crossed again the border into Somalia early last November in a bid to boost the push against Al-Shabaab militants in southern Somalia.
