The pro-TFG groups claims victory over Al-Shabaab militant group, saying two militants were killed and dozen others injured during the fight at El-Shid area of El-bur district.

Speaking to Sunatimes, a senior ASWJ official Mohamed Artan Shuriye said their militias raided the rebel base inflicting heavy casualties on the militant fighters.

He said there were no casualties or damages on their side.

Shuriye said the attack come after their intelligence confirmed that militants were setting up a base in the area, saying that they are now in full control of the El-Shid and its environs.

He, however, added that militant leaders fled the area ahead of the attack leaving behind what he termed as brainwashed youths lured into the rebel group’s activities in the region.
