Ahlu Sunna Wednesday claimed it has killed 18 Al-Shabaab militant fighters and wounded several others in a separate incident in south and central Somalia.

The group’s commander in central Somalia regions Hussein Hassan Farah said they killed three militant fighters and injured dozen others last night when armed militants attacked ASWJ and Ethiopian military base in El-bur town, Galgadud region.

He said there were no casualties inflicted on their side, adding they repelled the militants who wanted to create insecurity in the area.

Farah added that they are committed to wipeout remnant militant fighters in the region at all cost.

In a separate incident, Ahlu Sunna says it has killed 15 militant fighters in Mudale settlement, some 40 kilometres south of the rebel held Bardera town on Tuesday.

In an exclusive interview with Sunatimes, Ahlu Sunna’s southern Somalia spokesman Mohamed Hussein Al-Qadi claimed victory over Al-Shabaab during yesterday’s deadly between Al-Shabaab militant group and a collision of anti-Al-Shabaab forces comprising of the TFG, ASWJ and Kenyan troops in Gedo region.

The Al-Qaeda linked militants who are locked in fighting with Kenyan troops in Gedo and Lower Juba regions have been losing grounds to the allied forces in both central and south-west Somalia since Ethiopian troops crossed again into the border last November.
