During the meeting in Puntland’s regional headquarters, a range of issues was discussed including how pirates use ransoms money they receive from their captives and hijacked vessels and where such money are taken to, according to Puntland’s Ports sea transport and anti-piracy minister, Eng. Saeed Mohamed Rage.
Rage said the meeting was also attended by the area regional president, Abdirahman Mohamed Mohamoud Farole.
This is said to be the first time in history for such joint high level delegation from international bodies to visit Puntland administered areas of Somalia. But there has been meeting on such issues held in the region on several times in the past.
