ASWJ’s Dusamareb district commissioner, Abdirahman Ali Geda-qorow told Sunatimes that the three were in contact with his administration seeking amnesty for a couple of days before giving themselves up on Sunday.
He said they received them warmly to encourage other defectors to follow suit.
Geda-qorow called on other militant fighters to renounce violence and surrender to Ahlu Sunna group, saying that Al-Shabaab is becoming a burden on Somalis.
The pro-TFG group has several occasions in the past displayed alleged militant defectors joining their ranks, attributing this mass defection for their continuous provision of amnesty to militant defectors.
