The grenade was reportedly thrown into a government military base inside the former ministries compound. The identity of the attackers are yet to be established but reports say government troops are on hot pursuit to nab them.
Col. Adan Bariyow, the area deputy police commander told Sunatimes that they will soon overcome insecurity in this city.
He said they will closely monitor Al-Shabaab’s activities in the region to prevent any attacks on the already secured towns in the region.
The attack come hours after the first soldiers from the African Union force in Mogadishu was deployed into the city in order to take over from the Ethiopian troops who wrested control of the city from Al-Shabaab.

An explosion injures government soldier in Baidoa
A government soldier was injured in a grenade attack on a military in southwest Somali town of Baidoa, on Thursday night, the latest attacks on TFG bases since its troops backed by Ethiopian forces wrested control of the city, reports say.
