Hobyo police boss Abdiweli Hassan Hirsi told Sunatimes that the gangs holding a Taiwanese fishing vessel are trying to dock at Hobyo, a pirate invested Somali coastline town.
He said they will do all means possible to prevent them from docking at the areas.
Reports say the vessel, NAHAM 3 is being held at an area called Labad, some 40 km east of Hobyo town.
Hirsi said Somali pirates hijacked the vessel from the Gulf of Aden and were heading towards Hobyo.
Earlier in the day, a Kenyan maritime official, Andrew Mwangura, was quoted as saying that “Naham 3 reported being under pirates attack while sailing approximately 65 nautical miles off the South-East.”
The condition and number of the crew onboard the fishing vessel, which was reported missing on Tuesday, is not yet known, Press TV reports.
