In his message delivered to the Somali embassy in Khartoum, Al-Bashir said his government and the Sudanese people were saddened by the death of the former leader.

Al-Bashir said the country lost a devoted citizen and a national leader who played a great role in trying to unite the country after decades of civil war.

He said the former president was pillar in the country’s effort to get out of the current two decades old political stalemates witness in the country.
