Galkayo (Sunatimes)Somali leaders are today meeting at the central Somalia city of Galkayo, to discuss speeding up the implementation of the current political framework dubbed “Roadmap” and drafting of the new constitution as well as selection of the new parliament.

Somali president, Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, Prime minister Abdiweli Mohamed Ali , Speaker of the parliament Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan, officials from Puntland, Galmudug and Ahlu Sunna Wal Jamaa’ group who are the signatories of the roadmap are among those in attendance.

Meanwhile, President Sharif and his Prime Minister are later in the day expected to visit Galmudug administered southern side of the divided city where they will hold talks with the area regional vice president Abdisamed Noor Guleid.

Reports say security in the city has been tightened since the arrival of the top Somali government in the area.
