Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Somali Prime Minister, Abdiweli Mohamed Ali on Friday strongly condemned the killing of two MSF Belgium employees in Mogadishu on Thursday.
The PM said the gunman who shot the two aid workers had been taken into custody immediately after the shooting spree which took place inside the MSF center in Mogadishu. He added that the killer will be arraigned in court soon pending investigations behind the motive of the killing.
Ali also sent his heartfelt message of condolences to MSF Belgium and to the families of Phillipe Havet, 53, a Belgian and Andrias Karel Keiluhu, 44, an Indonesia who were gunned down by a disgruntled former employee.
The PM thanked the international community for its immediate response to the drought and famine related crisis in the country, adding that his government welcomes anybody supporting the Somali people.
The aid workers were attacked by a disgruntled former employee of the same organisation on Thursday, killing one of them on the spot while the other one died of his injuries on Friday.
