Borama (Sunatimes) The present Awdalite media outlets tend to be too propagandistic to be read, viewed or listened to. Mostly, they follow clanish, individualistic and group interest footmarks. However and unfrotunately for the Awdal commuity, there are very few or no other alternatives at all.

In our modern era, the media is indisputably an instrument of war. This is because winning modern political wars is as much dependent on carrying domestic and international public opinion as it is on defeating the enemy on the battlefield.

Therefore, the current local websites remain essential regardless of the intentions and believes of those who handle them. Their responsibility to give an impartial and balanced assessment of issues is in serious doubt.

The large majority of Awdalites feel that their messages are distorted, their time is wasted and their minds are used as dumbs. Obviously the so called media outlets are extremely unprofessional and against all codes of broadcasting ethics and conduct. In addition, they failed to meaningfully represent the true fibre of Awdal news.

Qulujetnet:Look into that outlet and you will find yourself in nowhere. The editor, like many others, is there to impose his own agenda on others. Even his individualistic principles are not yet fixed. One day he is on side and the next day he is on the extreme end of the same issue. The postings on the website are always too tribal and personal.

Awdalpress:Here, you will see somebody who is always ready to show-off his personal photo in his website and in any other media outlet. His knowledge of the world is Siilanyo and Somaliland and nothing more.

His close cousin, a close assistant of Siilanyo, is permanently posted on the right hand side of the screen. You wont get any meaningful news there in any day. I promise, You will tour through an empty shell

Harownews:This website has a longer career than many others. The infromation is mostly varied and sometimes loaded with explosive clannish bias. However the editor’s personal believes are consistant and he knows what he talking about.

Boramnews:A regular visitor of this website will immediately identify one main problem…. the title of the website does not match its postings. This site often posts very little news about Borama but goes to unnecessary levels of international news which is available in other many other media outlets.

It is also popular for reporting the wonders of the world such as the biggest rabbit and the oldest bride. This editor, mostly but not always, attempts to avoid local calnnish wrestling games and that is one main positive aspect.

Lughaya, bakipress, saylicipress and cadceed:These websites post ONLY clannish, impossible, irrational, poisonous and distorted informations. You will not like any of their postings. Avoid them for the health of your mind. That is a serious WARNING.

Among the Somalis, Awdal elite are in the minds of many but their whereabouts is a mystery when it comes to the adovacy of their people’s interests. They left politics for traditional illeterate leaders and they neglected the importance of media in the hands of irresponsible interest groups who used it for games of hatred and division.
