The WHO abducted staffer recently arrived from an official trip to Dusamareeb

Somali Peace Consultative conference kicks-off at Mogadishu city

Mogadishu is today hosting a consultative meeting aimed at bringing peace and reconciliation for the war-torn Somalia nation where many people of diverse political backgrounds and the Somali civil society are converging in large numbers.

The meeting is a continuation of a previous conference held on September at Mogadishu capital where its outcomes are to be discussed.

Among the partakers of the meeting, include head of the United Nations Political office for Somalia and UN special envoy to Somalia, Augustine Mahiga, AU representatives and representatives from the Arab league.

Moreover, there are members of the transitional federal government and those of Puntland and Galmudug authorities, the civil society and Ahlu-sunna Wal-jama’a, moderate Islamists who are also taking part in the meeting.

Among the topics for discussions of the consultative forum are Peace, Constitution, Reconciliation, Good governance and Elections.

The consultative meeting is scheduled to end after three days of discussions and debates in the Somali capital.

Jowhar children taken by shabaab militias can’t be traced.

The whereabouts of children aged between 10-12 years can not be traced a after Shabaab militias have taken them away from Jowhar district three days ago.

Parents of the children are in a state of confusion as one of the mothers of the taken- children told bar-kulan that the Shabaab militias took her only son and we are not naming her for security purposes.

Some of the Shabaab militia seized children include Abukar Ali Magan, son of a TFG Member of Parliament.

The whereabouts of the children are not yet established as many people fear that the children may be taken to Mogadishu for military training by the militia group.

WHO staffer kidnapped in Galgadud

Reports from Eel-deer district in Galgadud region indicate the abduction of Abdulahi Mohamed Ma’alim, WHO head of polio eradication staff .

Al- Shabaab militias are said to have kidnapped Abdulahi Mohamed Ma’alim, WHO staffer from a hotel in Eel- deer district.

The WHO abducted staffer recently arrived from an official trip to Dusamareeb district of Galgadud region.

Abdulahi’s whereabouts are yet to be established after he was abducted on Friday night whereas reasons behind his kidnappings are not known.

Shabaab militias attack Ahlu-Sunna Wal-Jama’a in Dusamareb district

Shabaab militias have yesterday afternoon attacked Dusamareb district in Galgadud region where Ahlu-sunna Wal-jama’a repulsed the assault that was waged on them.

According to some members of Ahlu Sunna Wal-jama’a there were many Shabaab corpses lying in Waberi village in Dusamareb following a clash that erupted between the two sides but the number of injuries and death toll are yet to be established.

Ahlu-Sunna got reinforcement from their collogues in Guraeel area within Galgadud region.

This assault is one of the continuous attacks Shabaab militias have previously waged on Dusamareb district.
