Mogadishu (Sunatimes) The Prime Minister of the
transitional federal government of Somali, Dr Abdiweli Mohamed welcomed Britain’s recent announcement on
hosting an international conference in Somalia on the need to overcome the instability of the
country as well protect ships plying the Gulf of Aden come 2012.
In a press briefing, the PM said that Somali government
fully support the UK Initiative to host an international conference in Somalia,
which represents a historic opportunity to bring a new hope for Somalia.
Dr Abdiweli said that piracy and terrorism are both
pressing problems to both Somalia and the other countries where he called the
international community to intervene.
The British government previously announced that it
will convene a meeting on tackling instability of the the two-decade war-haven nation
which is anticipated to be held next year in Somalia.
