US special representative to Somalia ambassador James Swan has yesterday paid a visit to Garowe, capital for the semi-autonomous state of Puntland.

TFG PM warns off looting relief food

Mogadishu (Sunatimes) The prime minister of the transitional federal government has yesterday warned off soldiers and persons engaged in looting relief food meant for internally displaced persons camping in different parts of the country.

Prime minister, Abdiweli Mohamed and some members of his cabinet ministers have yesterday visited Badbado campsite where they were participating in distribution of relief food funded by the Saudi government.

Dr Abdiweli said that it is unbearable to loot relief food when IDPs are hosting many problems.

The Saudi government has offered relief food including flour, sugar, date, cooking oil and milk to help harsh-hit drought and perennial conflict refugees.

Ethiopian soldiers found engaged in military activities in Hiiraan

Beledweyne (Sunatimes) Ethiopian soldiers who were staying in Kalabeyr area of Hiran region have been reported to engage in military activities in the area.

According to the reports from the region, Ethiopian forces armed with military vehicles were found supporting a pro-TFGsect preparing to oust the al —Shabaab militants from Hiran region where the militants are fully fledged.

The Ethiopian military activities have brought vehicles plying Beledweyne and central Somalia routes into a standstill.

Moreover, Ethiopian planes were yesterday patrolling Baldweyne, which caused fear and trauma to the residents of Baladweyne.

US special envoy to Somalia visits Garowe

Garowe (Sunatimes) James Swan,US special envoy to somalia and puntland president Abdirahman Farole

US special representative to Somalia ambassador James Swan has yesterday paid a visit to Garowe, capital for the semi-autonomous state of Puntland.

The delegation were welcomed by some Puntland state ministers at the airport before the envoy was ushered into the presidential palace for talks with the semi-autonomous state of Puntland president, Abdirahman Sheikh Mohamed Farole.

President Farole who had a close door meeting with the American special envoy to Somalia in a press conference said that the top agenda of the meeting was to improve the security situation of Puntland and that of Somalia at large.

This is the first visit to Garowe for James since he was appointed as the special envoy to Somalia in August this year.

Shabaab injuries taken to Kismayo

Kismayo (Sunatimes) Reports from lower juba indicate that 25 members of the Shabaab militia sect were yesterday injured following a fight that raged between them and their archrivals, the Raskambooni group augmented by the Kenyan forces in between Badade district and Kulbiyow location.

Some Badade residents confirmed to bar-kulan that Shabaab injuries were taken to the Red Cross hospital in the port city of Kismayo where the militia controls in large swing.

The militants are currently facing challenges after Kenyan forces and the Raskambooni group fighters partnered with TFG soldiers to wipe-out al-Shabaab, the AL- Qaeda surrogate in the war-torn Somali nation.
