Kismayo (Sunatimes) Al-Shabaab
militia group in the Port city of Kismayo Somalia, has freed officials working with a
local money transfer company, Qaran Express.
The officials were kept behind bars for allegedly
defying adhering to an earlier order from the militant group. Local elders
secured the release of Qaran Express employees for Somalia after pleading with the militia
leaders in the area.
The militia accused the remittance company of
defying their orders compelling all money transfer companies in the area to
forcefully accept old and worn out dollars.
Al-Shabaab Somalia has in the recent weeks imposed
restrictions on such companies but later lifted the restrictions after the
affected companies unconditionally accepted comply with the militant orders.
