Hargeisa (Sunatimes) Somaliland’s president has appointed one of the Al-Shabaab terror operatives, Mohamud Nor Arale (Dur) as the minister of interior which made surprise to the people of Somaliland and leaders in the east Africa region, reliable sources told Sunatimes.
The nomination of the new interior minister of Somaliland was worked out by the ministers of religion, financial, aviation and presidential palace those who are believed to be the controllers behind the bar.
Some of the Somaliland’s politicians think bringing Arale into office came through a proposal by his sister-in-low, the first lady (wife of the president) as intellectuals argue that this could be slowly bloodless coup by Al-Shabaab into the power in Somaliland.
The new interior minister is a senior member of Al-Shabaab who strongly opposes the interests of western in east Africa.
Commanders of Al-Shabaab militias have been pouring into Hargeysa and Burco in Somaliland for the past six months. Somaliland has been among the leading nations in the war against terror in the region but it appears to be under rule of radicals.
Somaliland, the break away republic in Somalia’s northern part which declared its independence from the rest of the country in 1991, did not still get international recognition.
