Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Delegates listen to other speakers during the three day consultative meeting in Mogadishu/RBKSomali leaders are on Tuesday meeting in Mogadishu for the last day of the three day national reconciliation conference in an effort to end 20 years of turmoil and set up plans for a new government.

The meeting which has formally kick-started on Sunday afternoon in Mogadishu aimed at winding up the seven-year-old transitional administration is expected to be concluded today.

Attending the conference are leader of the semi-autonomous regions in Somalia and members of a pro-government Ahlu Sunna Wal Jamaa group. But Somaliland which broke away in 1991 and Al-Shabaab rebel groups have no delegates represented it at the talks.

The UN representative for Somalia Augustine Mahiga who is also attending the meeting said they have only one year to accomplish the prioritised tasks ahead of them.

The U.N hopes that the current talks will give them a chance to realise peace in Somalia that has eluded Somalia in the last 20 years.
