Galkacyo (Sunatimes) Galmudug regional administration has appealed to warring side involved in the recent clashes in northern Galkayo to immediately stop the fighting which has claimed the lives of several people including civilians.

In a press statement today, the regional minister for interior and security Affairs, Abshir Dini Awale said the fight has saw the displacement of local population in the area, with hundreds of people who fled the two day fighting reaching the southern side of the city under his administration.

The minister called on the warring sides to stop the fighting and settle their differences without shedding any more blood.

The minister also urged the Somali TFG to immediately intervene the worsening situation to safe the lives of civilians bearing the brunt of the escalating war in the area.

He, however, added that if the hostilities continue, all the neighbouring areas will also be affected as the fighting may spread to other areas in the region.
