Galkao (Sunatimes) An intense fight between two clan militias has reportedly once again erupted in Degtur area, 180 KM south east Galkayo town, Mudug region.

Chairman of a local peace committee in the area Bashir Warsame Awale confirmed to Bar-kulan that fighting broke out between the worrying clan militias on Monday morning.

He said whilst there are casualties on both sides, no one can tell the exact figures resulting from the fight.

Latest reports from the area say a number of injured combatants from both sides have been taken to hospitals in Galkayo town for treatments.

It was earlier last June when the two clan militias fought in the same area but local peacemakers managed to restore calm between the two worrying clans.

It is not yet known what has triggered the renewed fight that has once again erupted in the area which appeared to be relatively peace in the last couple of months after elders and local peacemakers managed to halt further hostilities in the area.
