Reports say the group is still working on electing the third deputy leader of the organ

Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Ahlusunah National Salvation Forces delegates meeting in Abud-wak town of Galgadud region have elected a new leader and his deputy to head the group’s decision making organ.

After weeks of deadlock, the group managed to agree on the list of new office bearers.

Sheikh Omar Abdi Qadi was elected to the highest office of the group’s decision making organ ‘Guddiga Talada’, a sort of parliamentary group, while Sheikh Abdullahi Abdi Mohamed was elected as his deputy.

The recently appointed 32 member committee tasked with the election of new office bearers is expected to form Ahlusuna’s Parliamentary group-com.

Reports say the group is still working on electing the third deputy leader of the organ.

This is the first break through after delegates from various Ahlusunah National Salvation Forces ANSF group administrations failed to agree on number of issues in relation to the election of the new office bearers.

After this election, the group is also set to elect its executive office holders who will also be entitled to elect the group’s central Somalia chairman, the highest ranking office bearer of the group.

The Ahlusunah group meeting attended by officials from the neighbouring countries and African Union has been marred with disagreements within the ranks of the Ahlu Sunna delegates attending the meeting. But the group seems to have made a break through.
