Planes loaded with aid supply donated by the international community are now stranded in the Aden Adde airport of Mogadishu as the officials said they will not be allowed to fly back until tariffs is paid.

MOGADISHU (Sunatimes) - Government soldiers in Somalia arrested two of the pilots of the planes that deliver the aid supply into Mogadishu airport after they refused to pay $4,000 named as taxation.

Officer of SKA the taxation department in the airport told the media that president Sharif Sheik Ahmed ordered that all airplanes carrying the aid shipment should each pay $4,000.

Cargo planes loaded with aid supply donated by the international community are now stranded in the Aden Adde airport of Mogadishu as the officials said they will not be allowed to fly back until tariffs is paid. This surprises the world that aid to the starving Somalis is taxed.

“This is an acceptable. The human rights organizations and the United Nations should blame this action. How it could be taxed a person who came to rescue you. This is unwise act.” Mouse Aden, a local human rights activists said.

SKA, a foreign company which runs Mogadishu airport through a controversial deal with the current president Sharif Sheik Ahmed that cost millions of dollars, manages all the imports and exports.

The country’s parliament had earlier passed a motion against SKA saying that it should be out of Somalia with 48 hours but this goes with nothing.

Thousands of people mainly children and women died for hunger due to droughts in central and southern regions of Somalia.

KLM airline said that they owe president Sharif three million dollars for flight costs in the world.

Sharif Sheik Ahmed, who came into office for the support of the Somali society, is now becoming not as he was expected to be!!
