The PM praised the Somali people for coming together in support of the rebel withdrawal from the city a time when they are braving under the scorching sun while at the same time observing fast during this month of Ramadan.

He called on fellow citizens not to waste the victory they achieved and stand to support the government in its effort to restore law and order in the country.

Banadir regional governor Mohamed Ahmed Noor Tarsan who is also the mayor of Mogadishu called on the Somali people to stamp out Al-Shabaab elements hiding within the society in order to defeat the militant group and to achieve lasting peace in the country.
