Mogadishu
(Sunatimes) The president of Galmudug state of Somalia Mohamed Ahmed Alin has
appealed to Somalis of Galmudug origin in the diaspora to immediately act on
the ravaging drought situation in the region.
Alin
urged fellow compatriots in the diaspora to immediately intervene the current
drought and famine related crisis in the region and scale up humanitarian aid
for the badly affected people in the region.
He
told Bar-kulan that he has already appealed to the recent U.N delegation who
visited Galkayo town for humanitarain aid to help starving people in Galmudug.
He
added that the U.N team told him that they will discuss the issue with other
donors and try all means to aid the needy people who have been affected by the
severe drought in the Horn of African nation.
Meanwhile,
the president promised to name the remaining cabinet ministers in his recently
appointed cabinet and table them before parliament for approvals.
