Mogadishu
(Sunatimes) Members of the public in Wardigley district and police officers
have jointly started cleaning the area police station days after Al-Shabaab
pulled out of the area.
Some
of the local volunteers taking part in the cleaning initiative said they
volunteered to clean the station after the militia withdrew from the area and
entire Mogadishu.
Police
have been deployed in pockets of Mogadishu where Al-Shabaab has abandoned late
last week, with security personnel already keeping vigil in safe guarding
civilian population in the area.
Locals
however received newly deployed police presence in the area, promising to work
with them in securing their area from armed militias orchestrating criminal
activities aimed at weakening the prevailing law and order in the area.
