(Sunatimes)Hiiraan Online reporter in Puntland state of Somalia,
Faysal Mohamed Hassan (Boston), has on Sunday got back his freedom after being
in police custody for one month in Bosaso.
Boston secured his freedom through presidential pardon by
Puntland’s president, Abdirahman Mohamud Farole.
The presidential pardon has also seen the release of over forty other inmates
due to the approaching Holy month of Ramadan and the 13th anniversary of
Puntland which is set to be celebrated for tomorrow.
Faysal Mohamed Hassan was arrested a month ago after he allegedly
posted anti Puntland news, especially a story in which he described two
beheaded men to be members of Puntland’s security forces.
Media houses in the region has welcomed the release of the
Journalist and urged the president to uphold and promote free media in
Puntland.

Associated Somali Journalists ASOJ welcomes the pardon of the Puntland president Abdurrahman Mohamed Farole over the release of Somali Journalist Faysal Mohamed Hassan known as Boston. Mr. Boston who works at the online Hiiraan Webpage was arrested o
