Hargeisa (Sunatimes) Britain’s Minister for Africa, Henry
Bellingham, on Sunday visited Hargeisa, where he is expected to hold talks with
the Somalia’s self declared republic of Somaliland’s president and members of
the House of Representatives.
A head of his visit, Bellingham said Somalia really matters to the
UK, saying that they are playing a leading role in mobolising the international
response to the current grave humanitarian crisis.
Britain’s Minister for Africa, Henry Bellingham, also hinted that
during his visit, he will look into long term systematic challenges and how
they can partner in nurturing Somali stability and development, to enhance
resilience to humanitarian crisis.
The minister’s visit to Hargeisa is the first to Somali city by a
British Foreign Office Minister for over three years, and follows the visit of
international Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell last February.
