Galgadud (Sunatimes) Tension is reportedly high in Gadon area, 40km north of Dusamareb town in Galgadud region, following a heightened tension between Al-Shabaab militia and locals in the area.

Reports say the heightened tension in the area is likely to cause confrontations between the two groups a day after the Al-Shabaab militia engaged fierce fighting with armed locals protesting against the militia’s ban on Khat (narcotic leaves normally chewed by Somali men) in the area.

There were no casualties reported resulting from yesterday’s clash between the two warring groups.

Latest reports from the area suggest that local residents in the area are now in preparation of imminent possible clash between them and the Al-Shabaab militia, heightening trepidation in the area.
